To get benefits for a disease caused by Camp Lejeune’s contaminated water, you must prove these things:
- You served at Camp Lejeune for at least 30 days between August 1, 1953, and December 31, 1987.
- You have a disease listed in the official rules (38 C.F.R. § 3.309(f)). This list includes:
Cancers: Adult Leukemia, Aplastic anemia and other myelodysplastic syndromes, Bladder cancer, Breast cancer, Esophageal cancer, Kidney cancer, Liver cancer, Lung cancer Multiple myeloma, and Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Other Conditions:
- Female infertility
- Hepatic steatosis (fatty liver disease)
- Miscarriage
- Neurobehavioral effects
- Parkinson’s disease
- Renal toxicity (kidney damage)
- Scleroderma
